Terms of service

Collection and handling of personal information. To ensure we can communicate effectively with participants, the Cost-Benefit Knowledge Bank may collect some information which can be directly associated with a specific person. This personal information, for example, can include names, e-mail addresses and telephone numbers. It is the general policy of the Cost-Benefit Knowledge Bank to share this information only among staff and agents of the Cost-Benefit Knowledge Bank.

Participants in the Cost-Benefit Knowledge Bank who voluntarily share their personal information on the Cost-Benefit Knowledge Bank site and its outposts through comments, tweets, or other media should be aware they do so in a public space.

Linking. The Cost-Benefit Knowledge Bank may contain links to websites created and maintained by other organizations. The Cost-Benefit Knowledge Bank provides these links as a service to our participants. When participants follow a link to an outside website, they are leaving the Cost-Benefit Knowledge Bank site and are subject to the privacy and security policies of the owners/sponsors of the outside website(s).

Copyright. All participant contributions to the Cost-Benefit Knowledge Bank, in comments, blog posts, or other formats, that are published via systems owned by the Cost-Benefit Knowledge Bank, are published under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 United States License[1]. Contributors retain copyright under the terms of this license.

Post material to the Knowledge Bank that you created or own, but do not post content that belongs to someone else if that content has not been explicitly licensed and made available for sharing.

You do not need permission to refer to someone else’s content, and you may post a brief excerpt, with attribution, as an example or illustration. If at all possible, include a hyperlink to the original source of the excerpt. Do not post articles or blog posts in their entirety.[2]
